Myrtle Patrao's Yellow Fish Curry(Ajit's Nana) by Lisa and Ajit Saldanha


1 big or 2 small pomfrets or lady fish
1 coconut scraped and ground with 1 tsp jeera. Remove Thick and thin milk and keep separately

Green Masala:
6 green chillies
2 big onions
6 cloves garlic
a few slices ginger
3 big tomatoes
a spoonful of vinegar.
Cut all green masala lengthwise.


In hot oil fry 1 sliced onion light brown,then put in the other ingredients and fry for a few minutes.Pour in the thin milk and a tsp of turmeric powder. And keep stirring.When it starts to boil put in the vinegar and salt to taste.Now put in the fish after a little while and add the thick milk and let it boil well before taking off the fire.
